January 8, 2008, Westbrook, Maine –

annie|catherine, the company that creates unique cards for people who want to show their creativity through communications announced the release of their latest line of cards for new parents.

This line has special significance because the cards, designed by partner Annie Darling, were illustrated by Daniel Winship, the company’s newly hired staff illustrator. Daniel, a recent graduate of the Ringling College of Art + Design in Sarasota, Florida is a deaf adult who not only adds value to the company but challenges its founders to live their mission. When Annie Darling and Catherine Breer founded their company they wanted to create a work environment that was all about fairness, equality and shared sense of purpose. The addition of Daniel Winship to the staff not only helps the company realize its vision but also adds greater depth the company’s extraordinary greeting card collection.

“Hiring Daniel was a remarkable stroke of luck,” says Annie Darling. “He has incredible talent and a sense of whimsy that comes through his illustrations and matches our sense of humor and design. The fact that he’s deaf is a non-issue because we are slowly but surely learning to communicate through American Sign Language,” she added.

The line of cards for new parents is whimsical and fun and features such lines as: “There’s nothing quite like that new baby smell.” “Don’t blink. It goes by way too fast.” “Happy baby.  Happier family.”

The new line of baby cards are 5” x 5” and 5” x 7” and are available for purchase singly with an MSRP of 3.00 per card.
